6 Year Old Piano Prodigy Is Also Blind!

For years I’ve wanted to learn how to play the piano but it just seems to complicated. However, some people are just born to play it. Just like this 6 year old prodigy named Avett who can play songs like “Bohemian Rhapsody” even though he can barely reach the keys. Not only is he 6 years old and able to play the piano and sing along, he is also blind. He learned to play the piano by ear starting at 11 months old.
After his parents saw that he taught himself how to play “Twinkle, Twinkle” they signed him up for piano lessons. Now he is performing for charity all over his town of Dayton, Ohio. So his main focus now is working on his performing, the piano is the easy stuff.
He is completely blind in one eye and can see only partially in the other but even at 6 years old he is able to read in braille. Sara, his mom, visits his school and others to talk about the lack of resources there are for the blind. She was inspired to write a children’s book about a little boy who couldn’t see the clouds and of course Avett is the little boy in the book.
