Berkeley Animal Care Services: Gorda
By Hope Bidegainberry on April 3, 2018
Gorda is an 8 year old, shorthaired, grey tabby ready to find her new family! True to her name, she is a tubby little gal with the cutest face and markings. When Gorda arrived at the shelter, she was not feeling well at all – overweight, lethargic, and uncomfortable. It was soon discovered that she has diabetes, and since she started treatment, she is feeling so much better! Now she is losing some weight and is curious, bright-eyed, and funny. She is looking for a loving family that will commit to her diabetes treatment, which involves a wet food-only diet and easy, twice daily insulin injections (she doesn’t mind them, and they allow her to live her best life!). Gorda likes to play with cat toys and to be around humans, though she is pretty independent too. Since she’s a mellow golden girl, she would prefer a quieter house with grownups or older kids. She’s a cutie and sweetheart and deserves a happy home. Come meet her and see if it’s a good fit!
