Kincade Fire & Evacuations

According to Cal Fire, the Kincade Fire has burned 0ver 75,415 acres and is 15 percent contained.  A red flag warning is in effect until 4pm Wednesday October 30.  High winds are the largest concern today.   The forecast is on track for a challenging afternoon and strong offshore winds Tuesday evening.  The weather is expected to improve the next 5-7 days but there is no rain in the forecast. 

 These winds can pick up embers and start new fires.   124 structures have been destroyed, 57 have been determined to be homes.  90,000 structures remain threatened.  There are over 4000 firefighters battling the Kincade Fire.

On Monday night, Cal Fire issued an evacuation warning for parts of Lake County due to the Kincade Fire, including Twin Pine Casino in Middletown.

Meanwhile, some evacuation orders have been downgraded for parts of western Sonoma County, including Bodega, Bodega Bay, Carmet, Muniz Ranch, Sebastopol, Occidental, Freestone, Camp Meeker, Forestville, Rio Nido, Hacienda, Monte Rio, Cazadero, Guerneville and Valley Ford.

Air Quality

Limit your time outdoors, keep the air conditioning on recirculate, and avoid strenuous activities especially for sensitive people with asthma. N95, N99 or N100 are the recommended masks for smoke protection.

Power Shut Off

PG&E is going to shut off power Tuesday October 30 and into Wednesday due to more strong winds. PG&E said power would be turned off in seven phases, but that times may change depending on weather conditions.
