DOVE Wants To Help Dads Take Paternity Leave
By 965koit on February 26, 2019
As a man who just became a dad for the first time, I was very lucky to have a company that offered paid family leave (shout out to Bonneville!). Unfortunately, not all companies feel like dads are an important part of the baby raising process and don’t get time to bond with their new born.
Honestly, the best thing I used my paternity leave for was giving mom a break. It was Kristen’s first kid too and we were both stressed out trying to figure out how to take care of an infant. I don’t know what we would have done with it.
It sounds like DOVE (the soap company) feels the same way that most people do. They think that paternity leave is extremely important in raising a new child, so they have stepped up to help. They have created the DOVE Paternity fund that will give dads who currently don’t receive paid family leave benefits a $5000 grant so that they can take time off to spend with their new born. They have set aside $1 Million dollars to give to as many dads as they can until times change and all companies offer it. They feel that working dads shouldn’t have to choose between their jobs and their babies.
If you know a dad who needs this or if you are one, you can use this LINK to apply on DOVE’s website.
