Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy Lunar New Year! This year’s annual Chinese New Year Celebration is the Year of the Pig! In Chinese culture, pigs represent wealth and treasure. People born in the year of the Pig are believed to be generous, disciplined and hard-working. Pigs are very social and friendly too! Year of the Boar include those born in 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019.
You don’t need to be born during the Year of the Pig to celebrate Chinese New Year! Decorate your home in the colors of Red & Gold, these colors are considered lucky and convey happiness and prosperity. If you’re feeling generous, you can give red envelopes full of money to your family. Head to your favorite Chinese Restaurant to celebrate the New Year with Dumplings and rice cakes and oranges!
