Love Letter From A Dying Woman To Her Husband Is Heartbreaking & Beautiful

By Hope Bidegainberry on November 15, 2017

Amy Krouse Rosenthal is the prolific author of 28 children’s books.  She has ovarian cancer, and as her days draw to a close she decided to pen an essay called, You May Want to Marry My Husband.

When the story appeared on my screen this morning I thought for sure it was joke, some cynical blog about love and marriage. But no, every word of Amy’s story is brave and true. She tells of her marriage to a man she describes as “easy to fall in love with” and “an absolutely wonderful father”. In one heartbreaking passage after another she reminds us that life is fleeting.  Amy writes with clarity and honesty, pulling no punches.  This isn’t sentimenal prose, it’s brutally honest, sad, sweet and soemtimes funny.

Amy and Jason have been married for 26 years, she longs for 26 more, but she knows that’s not to be. Her short essay is a tribute to enduring relationships.

I hope you’ll read, You May Want To Marry My Husband
