Miss America: Not a “Pageant” Anymore

Miss America is finally stepping into the year 2018!

The organization announced this morning that it will not judge the female contestants based on their physical appearance anymore. That means, no more swimsuit or evening gown competitions.

They say that the women can wear anything that makes them feel confident, and reflects their personal style.

They also said that they are not a “pageant” anymore, and more of a “competition” for women to participate in to win scholorship money.

Just like before, the women will still be asked to demonstrate their passion, intelligence and overall understanding of the job of Miss America.
