Moving From One Side of the Bay to the Other

So I’m sure you’re aware of this by now, but I’m new around here. I’ve lived in Texas my whole life until now. For the last month I’ve been living in San Francisco until I could find a place of my own, and it’s finally happened! I’m moving into a cute little house in Emeryville.

I’m currently in the process of moving from one place to another and it’s definitely an adventure. I’m getting my workouts in for the month with all this walking and lifting. I just can’t wait to get it all over with so I can sleep in my own bed again! There is one person who’s extremely excited for this move and that’s my cat, Kiwi. She’s been needing some space to run around. Of course, she’s not doing any of the heavy lifting. LOL.

Whenever I move somewhere new I like to explore the area a little bit so this is where I’m going to need your help and advice.

I’ve done my fair share of exploring in San Francisco, but I’m going to be super new to the East Bay. What are some places I’ll need to visit while living in East Bay?

Give me all the cool shopping places, restaurants, bars, parks, etc.

What are my best commuting options since I’ll still be working in the city? BART? AC Transit? I don’t know what else is out there.

I can really use your help.
