San Jose BART Finally Opening?!

It seems like they’ve been working on BART to San Jose FOREVER. I mean I’ve only lived in the Bay 6 months and I know this.

Well we now have another tentative opening date: November 1st. We expected this to open last year so let’s hope this time it really does happen.

It looks like testing of the BART trains from Fremont to the Beryessa area of San Jose begins next week. According to The Mercury News, “up to 20 trains a day could be running.” The tracks from Berryessa to Fremont are completed and a second phase will extend BART six mles from Berryessa into Downtown San Jose and Santa Clara. That phase is projected to be completed in 2026.
