How could those 2 things possibly relate? Turns out there is an insurance company that thinks people with Hotmail accounts need to pay higher premiums. A company named Admiral in the UK is charging higher rates to people who still use Hotmail email accounts because “those people” tend to get in more accidents.

They say that research done though their website that looks at peoples emails and how often then get into accidents actually correlates. Showing that people who still use Hotmail have an increased chance of getting into a car accident over people who use more modern email accounts like Gmail.

So, the next time you apply for insurance make sure you create a new gmail account before going in. I wouldn’t put your myspace account or AOL messenger screen name either just to be safe.
