The Chicken Sandwich Craze Continues with KFC

Just when we thought the chicken sandwich war between Popeyes and Chick-Fil-A was winding down, KFC decided to throw their hat into the mix.

They’ve decided to go the extra mile and change their buns to doughnuts. Yes, remember that doughnut burger you see at State Fairs across the country? This is it, but with fried chicken.

CNN reports “customers have two options: a chicken and doughnut basket meal for $5.49, which includes chicken tenders or bone-chicken plus a doughnut; or a chicken sandwich for $5.99, featuring a fried chicken patty between two doughnut buns.” You can also add a doughnut to any meal for just a dollar more.

Unfortunately for us, this is only being tested at select locations in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, and Pittsburgh. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we get word on it coming to the Bay.
