The Reason Neighborhood Kids are Scared of Me
By 965koit on July 8, 2019
I scared a neighborhood kid yesterday, and I think I was right for doing it.
Hear me out.
Our house butts up to a park. There is a public restroom in the park that you can see from our window. Check out my handy diagram
I was sitting at my desk, looking out over the park last night, when I hear a little boy say, “No, mommy, I would rather go in the bushes.”
Wait, what? The bushes right next to our gate?
At this point, I stand up, open my blinds, make eye contact with this kid and give him my best mom stare as if to say, “don’t you dare!”
Look, I’m a mom, I get it. Kids have to go to the bathroom at the worst times, but there is a bathroom RIGHT THERE. If you’re worried about predators inside, go in and see if it’s okay first.
The kid ends up backing away from the bush and tells his mom he’ll go when he gets home.
I know those bushes are not on our property, but they’re so close to our backyard!
Was I wrong?
