The Swaddle Bath For Newborns Is AMAZING!

If you have a newborn baby and aren’t doing a Swaddle Bath, you’re about to have your mind blown! Baby Lilly was born 6 weeks early and while we were in the hospital the nurses had to give her a bath. One day we walked in while they were bathing her and we were shocked to see her wrapped in a wet blanket just sitting in the water. Did they know the blanket was still on? Had the nurse lost her mind? Yes and No.

It’s called a swaddle bath and your baby loves it! Instead of the screaming and the wiggling around the baby stays calm and wrapped up in a warm blanket while you bath them body part by body part. It’s the only way we have learned how to wash baby Lilly and it’s awesome. We were definitely stressed about bath time because no one likes a screaming baby. Not saying she doesn’t eventually scream a little bit but by that time it’s over and we have her wrapped in a warm dry towel. Most of the time though, shes sleeping. We wash her face first and then the rest of her and it isn’t until we have to wash her back that she starts to realize what we are doing.

Its super easy and super stress free! Here isĀ  a quick video with instructions from UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital in Oakland.
