Update on Niners Quarterback Garoppolo
By 965koit on September 24, 2018
Jimmy Garoppolo took a hit in Sunday’s game and most likely tore the ACL and possibly MCL in his left knee.
The 49ers were playing the Kansas City Chiefs when it happened.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Garoppolo will undergo an MRI on Monday. He said, “an ACL tear would mean surgery and his season being ended.”
Garoppolo is not the only niner to have a season-ending injury.
There was also:
— Jerry Rice: ACL, 1997 opener, at Tampa.
— Bryant Young: broken leg, 1998, vs. Giants.
— Garrison Hearst: broken ankle, 1999 playoffs, at Atlanta.
— Alex Smith: shoulder separation, 2007, vs. Seattle.
— NaVorro Bowman: ACL and MCL, 2013 NFC Final, at Seattle.
Do you think he will play again?
