Beach Blanket Babylon to Close After 45 Years

After 45 years in San Francisco, Beach Blanket Babylon will close its doors.

Yesterday, Jo Schuman Silver, the producer of the show, announced that their final performances will be on December 31, 2019.

She said that she “felt it was time.”

The show opened in 1974 for a six-week run, but now it’s been playing for over 45 years and it’s been seen by more than 6-million people.

The show is known for its iconic hats and political and pop culture spoofs. If you want to see the show before it closes, check out their website.
