Have you ever talked your way out of a tow?

Today I parked my car on a street in San Francisco.  I ran across the street to look at some tile at a building supply store.  I must have been in there for no more than 45 minutes.  I slowly walked out a bit frustrated that I couldn’t find everything I needed for my bathroom remodel and then I caught a glimpse of a tow truck around the area I parked my car.  Low and behold the tow truck driver was getting my car set up to be towed away!!!  I ran over to him while saying, “WAIT!  WAIT!!  THAT’S MY CAR!!  PLEASE DON’T TOW IT!!!”  He actually didn’t speak to me but did start removing the equipment away from tires!  WOW!   I was so thankful.  The parking enforcer was not smiling, they rarely do.  I kindly asked her, “Ma’am what is the next step?”  I knew she was writing me a ticket and said, “YOU’RE GONNA GET A TICKET!”  At that point I was just lucky I didn’t get towed that I didn’t care I got a ticket.  WHEW!!  Close call.
