Sheriff Woody was my daughter’s first best friend.

I can still remember when I first watched Toy Story. I was 21 years old. I remember watching the movie several times a day for months!!! The feeling it gave me was just of pure joy. I am 25 now, I mean 45 lol and I still get the same feeling. I’m sad that I didn’t keep my original Buzz Lightyear toy. He was about 12″ tall and his wings popped out on the space suit and he had some recordings that would sound off when you would press certain buttons. I actually saved it and gave it to my first daughter to play with (and then eventually passed on to her little sister.) The movie came out in 1995 and my daughter was born in 2004. Little did I know that Toy Story would be one of her favorite movies too.
She particularly had a liking for Woody! She received a Woody doll for her birthday one year and she immediately fell in love with it. She took him every where and I mean EVERY WHERE! He would be sleeping side by side with her while in her Jessie pajamas. It was the cutest thing. One day we were in the car and I realized that we did not have Woody in the car with us and I told her dad and even he got kind of in a panic also lol. We knew we had to turn the car around to “pick him up at the house” otherwise the day would have probably gone haywire.
Woody provided a certain kind of comfort and security for my daughter. She would even talk to him and watch TV with him. I really wish I knew where her Woody doll went. After we split up into different households I never saw him again. I thank Sheriff Woody for his service and amazing memories he gave us.
