Kitten Rescued From Highway 101 Available For Adoption!

A homeless kitten rescued on July 23 by a Good Samaritan on southbound Highway 101 near the Ralston Avenue exit is now available for adoption at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA (PHS/SPCA).

“We named the kitten Leo in honor of the man who saved his life when he saw him attempting to cross the highway during the rush hour morning traffic,” said PHS/SPCA’s Communications Manager Buffy Martin Tarbox.  “Leo the kitten is a very sweet black and white male who is ready for a new and loving home.”

Leo is two months old, is neutered and vaccinated.  People interested in adopting Leo should visit PHS/SPCA’s Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame.  Leo’s adoption fee is $120.

“This little kitten’s story would have been much different, had he not been rescued by a quick thinking Good Samaritan and brought to us,” according to Tarbox.

When Leo first arrived at PHS/SPCA he was under-aged and not old enough for adoption.  He was placed in PHS/SPCA’s Kitten Nursery where he received specialized care by trained PHS/SPCA staff and volunteers.  The Kitten Nursery saves the lives of hundreds of motherless and under-aged kittens every year and is funded solely by donations.
