The Bay Area is experiencing power outages, delayed flights and flash floods due to the current storm in the Bay Area. As of 5pm this evening close to 22,000 customers have been out of power with the bulk of that number in the North Bay with nearly 15,000. Have flash lights on hand. If you need to use candles makes sure not to use them near drapes and lampshades to avoid a fire.
Airports around the Bay Area have had to cancel and delay hundreds of flights. SFO’s average delay was over 3 hours. Be sure to check with the airlines before heading to the airport.
Sonoma County is experiencing flash flooding. The Camp Fire Burn Zone is experiencing mudslides and flooding. Be cautious on all Bay Area roadways as there are many downed power lines and trees and also pockets of stagnant water that can cause your vehicle to hydroplane. (How to recover from hyrdoplaning) Highway 17 is closed due to a mudslide earlier in the day that is being cleared but there is no time stated as to well it will reopen.
Be safe. Stay indoors if possible and please bring your pets inside!!!
