To say that I’m excited about fall is an understatement.
I love the season. I love the weather. I love the decorations. I love the taste of pumpkin in EVERYTHING.
So you can imagine how excited I was for the return of the PSL. The Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Today, I practically skipped to work to order from that fancy coffee house that made it famous. You know the one.
I gleefully ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin spice scone.
I took my pumpkin haul upstairs to the studio, sat down, mentally prepared myself for the goodness and took a sip.
But something was off.
It didn’t taste as I remembered.
So I took a bite of my scone.
It was too sugary and not as comforting as it used to be.
What is happening?
Could it be that they changed the recipe or could it be that I’ve changed? Could the pumpkin spice taste buds on my tongue dull? Have I grown out of that delicious nutmeg and cinnamon combination?
Who am I if I don’t like pumpkin-flavored things anymore?
Which fall flavor do you like? It looks like I’m in the market for a new favorite.
