Is Lilly Being Hugged Enough?

By 965koit on August 8, 2019

This is something I’ve been wondering lately.

Is Baby Lilly being hugged enough or am I hugging her TOO much?

It turns out that I might not be smothering her, in fact, I should hug her even more.

A new study found that hugging your baby from early on boosts brain responses and can offset traumas as a newborn. `

Despite the traumatic experience of being in the NICU and being poked and prodded, the research shows that a supportive touch from a parent or hospital staff helped counteracts the negative experiences.

A gentle hug can make the prick of a needle not so bad!

Baby Lilly isn’t in the NICU anymore, but I’m still going to hug and kiss her as much as possible.
