Officials Approve Toll Fee To Drive On San Francisco’s Famous Lombard Street

San Francisco city officials have approved a toll to drive on Lombard Street.  The toll could be as much as $10 for people to drive on the city’s famous crooked street after city supervisors unanimously approved to charge a toll.

Visitors would have to schedule a visit online and pay anywhere from $5 per vehicle and possibly $10 on holidays and weekends.

People who live here say it feels more like an amusement park than a residential street since nearly two million people visit it per year.

The windy road attracts people because it’s been deemed the crookedest street in the world, and the views are some of the best in the city.

The new fee would help pay for traffic control officers and make it more under control.

The city still needs a final approval from the state, but the hope is for the fee to go into effect before 2020.
