Richmond Ferry Opens!
By 965koit on January 10, 2019
It feels like it’s been in the works for a long time and now it’s finally complete. The Richmond to San Francisco Ferry is officially up and running as of today (Hazzah!). Since I live in Richmond I’m extra excited for it to be open because it will help me get into the city and avoid all the traffic. Unfortunately it doesn’t open early enough for me to get to work at 4am but on getting into the city on the weekends just got much easier.
The trip across the Bay takes about 35 minutes and they offer 4 runs in the morning and 4 runs in the evening. A ticket will cost you $9 unless you use your Clipper Card, then it will only be $6.75. They have snacks and Wifi on board and there is free parking at the lot across the street on a first come, first serve basis.
I can literally see the Ferry from my house so I can’t wait to take a ride!
