Save 41% More $$$ Doing This At The Grocery Store

A typical grocery store visit for me consists of a list on my phone, a pair of headphones and big appetite. One of those 3 things is causing me to spend 41% more money while I shop than I would have without it. Which one do you think it is?

Did you guess “big appetite?” Sure, shopping while your hungry is a terrible idea because you do actually spend more money but that’s not the answer. It’s actually my phone.

A new study was done that showed people who used their phones while they shop for groceries spent 41% more money. You are distracted by social media or texting so you walk a little slower and end up putting more things into your cart. By the end of some peoples shopping they had added up to 58% more items than they needed. Think of it this way, for each second that people spent on their phones it cost them 25 to 50 cents. If it takes you 4 seconds to respond to a text it costs you a dollar.

The longer we spend inside a store the more money we end up spending. Next time you go to the store leave the phone in the car or in your pocket because it will save you a bunch of money.
