Star Wars Virtual Reality Was Amazing!

By 965koit on September 4, 2019

If you have ever tried virtual reality, then you know that it’s normally pretty bad. You never really feel like you are actually in another reality, right? That’s what we were expecting when we tried out a place called The VOID in San Francisco.

DISCLAIMER: They did give us free entry into this experience but are not endorsing us or paying us to give our review. I reached out to them to see if they would let us come down, try it out and give our honest review in a blog.

We had no idea what to expect when we got there. When they first strapped us into the backpack and helmet we all thought that we were going to be attached to a string the whole time. That was not the case at all! You put on the gear and then go into another room and turn it all on. When you lower your headset you are actually taken away into a virtual world. You can’t see anything that is not on the screen. It really is like you are inside of a video game.

You walk into the next room and you are suddenly on a spaceship traveling the galaxy dressed as a stormtrooper. At some point you get guns and have to shoot your way out of the facility that you landed in. When you have to walk out on a ledge, you can see all the way around you and like you are going to fall off but you are safely on the ground. But your brain doesn’t know that and you get that vertigo feeling. You can feel the heat, the wind and you can smell the things around you. When you get shot, you feel it!

We are all still talking about this the next day. How much it felt like we were all there taking out stormtroopers and giant monsters. It’s unlike anything we had ever done and we can’t wait to go again. Star Wars isn’t the only thing they have there. You can be a Ghostbuster (which is what we are totally doing next) or even live a horror adventure.

They are located on the 4th floor of the Westfield Mall in San Francisco and you can book appointments at TheVoid.com
