What Is CamelCamelCamel & How Can It Save You $$$?

Let me first say that this blog is NOT an endorsement. I am not being paid or compensated in any way by writing this or using the website. I’m just a fan and I really do use it all the time.

For the last couple months I have been getting daily emails from the website CamelCamelCamel.com and I have saved a bunch of money. I don’t know if you’re the same way but I have an Amazon.com wishlist that I am constantly adding things too. Like most people, there are a ton of things I want but can’t afford to buy right now. So to remind myself what I want when I get a little extra money, I created a wishlist.

When I get bored on the couch I’ll stalk my wishlist just to see if there is anything that may have dropped in price. Some times I think I see a difference but most of the time it’s hard to keep track of. That was until I signed up for an account at CamelCamelCamel.com. So what the heck is it and how does it save you money?

After you sign up for an account you can add a link to your Amazon wishlist and it will keep track of the prices. If anything on your list suddenly drops in price, you get an email telling you about it. Another cool feature is that it shows you the price history of the product you want. So if you were thinking about buying something but you see that it was $50 cheaper last week. You might want to wait and see if it drops down again. It will also tell you if the current price is the “Best Price” that it’s ever been.

Recently I bought a lightsaber because the price dropped $60. It was the cheapest that it had ever been on Amazon so I bought it! Two days later it jumped up $80. That was the most dramatic price difference I’ve seen so far. Most of the time the price will drop a dollar or two at a time depending on how much it originally costs.  It’s fun to see things dropping and going back up in price using the tracker. You can see back about 12 months and watching how much and how often the prices fluctuates is really interesting.

I’m sure this isn’t healthy but whatever! I like buying stuff. Might as well get a good deal on it right?
