Dare to Love: GLIDE’s Annual Holiday Jam
November 14 @ 7:00 pm - 7:00 pm
GLIDE’s Annual Holiday Jam: Dare to Love on Thursday, November 14 at The Masonic in San Francisco will feature a joyful evening of music, celebration and community. This annual event raises much-needed funds for GLIDE’s programs. The evening will feature special performances by 12-time Grammy Award-nominated vocal powerhouse Ledisi, Grammy Award–winning singer Lisa Fischer, the world-renowned GLIDE Ensemble and The Change Band, and more to be announced. Renel Brooks-Moon will return as the evening’s emcee. Some of the Bay Area’s favorite restaurants will be providing specialty tastings of their signature items. Honorary co-chairs include Senator Dianne Feinstein and Richard C. Blum, Felicia and Ben Horowitz, Chip Conley, Maja Kristin and Kelly and Craig D. Ramsey.
This is a pivotal moment for the community and country, when so many of our most vulnerable neighbors are suffering from homelessness, hunger, drug use disorders, mental health crises as well as the fear that comes with the wave of violence, xenophobia and bigotry happening nationwide. GLIDE continues to address this suffering head-on with compassion, evidence-based solutions and uncompromising advocacy. GLIDE is building on its 50-year legacy with GLIDE Forward, a strategic vision to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
“GLIDE’s mission of unconditional love, radical inclusion and social justice is sorely needed in this world, now more than ever,” said GLIDE President and CEO Karen Hanrahan. “In the face of all that challenges us today, it’s vital that we join together and dare to love. By doing so, we bring hope and light to the people we serve.”
Each year, the GLIDE Annual Holiday Jam raises funds for GLIDE’s comprehensive services, including the Daily Free Meals program, or “Mo’s Kitchen,” which serves 750,000 free meals annually to San Francisco’s most in-need individuals and families.
“The unwavering generosity and support of our community motivates and inspires us in our mission so that we are there for those most in need,” said GLIDE Co-founder and Minister of Liberation Reverend Cecil Williams.
Doors open for the Holiday Jam at 5:30 pm for the 7:00 pm program. Individual tickets are available through GLIDE.org/daretolove and range from $50 to $100; VIP tickets and sponsorships are available now and range from $1,000 to $250,000.
