I am so happy for Serena Williams.  I am happy for her on so many levels.  I remember watching her and her sister Venus just dominate the tennis scene way back in the mid-90s.  I was always in awe for a few reasons, I was horrible at tennis (LOL) and was surprised at how easy they made it look and it was so cool to see some real powerful women doing amazing things!  Fast forward to 2019 when General Mills announces Serena Williams will grace their Wheaties box!  Serena is only the 2nd black woman tennis player to be on the Wheaties box.  in 2001 Althea Gibson was the FIRST and Serena is honored to be the 2nd!

You’ve worked hard for this Serena!  You’re a mom!  You’ve won the Grand Slam 23 times!  You’re a 4 time Olympic Gold medalist!!  I’m so proud of you.  As a woman of color myself, this really does feel good!  Congratulations!
