How to open your garage door without power

You may have awoken this morning to find that you don’t have power. You were most likely prepared for this, but you may have forgotten to get your car out of the garage. PG&E is shutting down power all over the Bay area today and most garage doors require power to work. So how do you get your car out?
Thankfully the Marin County Sheriffs department shared a photo explaining the process.
Safety Tip: If your garage door does not have a battery backup, please look at the attached photo that will help you get your garage door open without power. This is always good to review in the event of a #PSPS or any emergency. Be prepared.#MarinPSPS #PGEShutOff pic.twitter.com/H7XMNDyc5x

If you can see this tweet here is how it works.
Find the little red handle that is hanging down from your garage door opener. Only use this if your garage door is closed. Pull down on the handle and it will put the garage door into manual mode. Then you should be able to lift it up on the tracks.
