Town Cats Celebrates #GivingTuesday

This #GivingTuesday, Town Cats will celebrate giving by raising $20k for Rosie’s Legacy Cats to help with medical and ongoing care until they find their Forever Home.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

This year’s campaign:
It’s been 5 years since the passing of our beloved founder, Rosi, and in her honor we are dedicating this year’s #GivingTuesday to the cats she left behind. Our Legacy Cats are near and dear to our hearts but it’s time to find their Forever Home and we need your help. Our goal is to raise $20K for our Legacy Cats. Ageing is part of life, and as our Legacy cats get older they need some extra support to help keep them adoption-ready. As senior cats (6 years and older), medical and dental procedures are often needed. On average, these procedures can cost up to $3,000 per cat. Help us address their needs while we put them through Cat Pawsitive training where we will modify their behavior and teach them new skills destined to make them stand out amongst the younger generation. Our Legacy Cats will be well behaved and able to high-five in no time. Every donation makes a difference no matter how big or small. Thanks to our Matching Fund partners, your dollar is now DOUBLED. You give $1, we get $2! Together we can get our Legacy Cats adoption-ready. Our goal is to have all 9 Legacy Cats sponsored, high-fiving, and placed in their Forever Homes by the end of 2019. Help us honor Rosi’s legacy, give to our Legacy Cats and help spread the word #GivingTuesdayTownCats. “We are excited for the new developments we have in the works surrounding our Legacy Cats this #GivingTuesday. In 20 years of Town Cats history, we feel this year its important to focus our efforts towards our remaining Legacy cats and providing them with the care they need while they await their forever homes.” – Kimí Alli, Development Manager Founded in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y – a community and cultural center in New York City −#GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in. Over $300 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness. “We are incredibly inspired by the way the #GivingTuesday community has embraced this concept for a worldwide movement,” said Henry Timms, founder of #GivingTuesday and Executive Director of 92Y. “As we prepare for November 27, we’re energized and encouraged by the community’s generosity. The levels of creativity, effort and the quality of the new ideas people have contributed and shared are
phenomenal.” Those who are interested in joining Town Cat’s #GivingTuesday initiative can visit HERE.  For more details about the #GivingTuesday movement, visit the
